Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has announced a N1 million bounty on Magnus Okpalannadi, 62, who is accused of defiling his three-year-old daughter.
In a statement signed by Mrs. Grace Njoku, Head of Information and Public Relations of the ministry, on Wednesday in Abuja, Kennedy-Ohanenye revealed that the ministry received a report alleging that Okpalannadi, a resident of Onitsha, Anambra State, had been sexually molesting his young daughter.
Following the revelation, Okpalannadi reportedly disappeared before he could be apprehended.
“President Bola Tinubu-led Administration has zero tolerance for child abuse and molestation. Hence, we would ensure the immediate prosecution of the pedophile to serve as a deterrent to would-be perpetrators,” the minister stated.
Kennedy-Ohanenye emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a safe environment for all citizens, particularly children. She reiterated the administration’s resolve to protect the rights and uphold the dignity of every Nigerian child, woman, and vulnerable individual.
