Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect of Nigeria, has issued a statement to the other candidates in the recently completed 2023 presidential election.
According to The Site News, after Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared Tinubu the winner on Wednesday morning, Tinubu formally acknowledged his election as the president of Nigeria.
The nation’s number one seat of power was fiercely contested by candidates from across 18 political parties.
Giving his victory acceptance speech this morning, Tinubu thanked all those who participated in Saturday’s election with particular mention of ‘Articulated’, ‘Obidients’, ‘Batified’ and ‘Kwankwasiyya’ supporters.
He said: “Whether you are BATified, Atikulated, Obidients, or Kwankwasiyya, I must thank you for working hard to straighten our democratic system.”
Addressing those who contested the position with him, Tinubu said: “Let’s collaborate and work together. I promise to work with you.”
“It’s my turn actually,” elated Tinubu reiterated in his address at the party’s secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.
Tinubu added: “I am profoundly humbled to serve as the 16th President of our beloved country. This is a shining moment in the life of any man and an affirmation of our democratic existence.
“I take this opportunity to appeal to my fellow contestants to let us team up together. It is the only nation we have. It is one country and we must build together.”
