Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s national security minister and leader of right-wing party Otzma Yehudit, urged his government to send a strong signal to its enemies.

Referring to the unprecedented terror attack launched by Hamas last October, the minister said: “Ideas of containment and moderation are the perceptions that ended on October 7.

“To create a deterrent in the Middle East, Israel has got to show that it is prepared to go berserk.”

On Sunday, the tiny Israeli war cabinet failed to come to an agreement over a possible response to the Iranian drone and missile attack. It is reconvening on Monday.
